Windermere is a tiny suburb of Orlando, located in eastern Florida and on Lake Windermere. The town is just under two square miles in total size. Approximately 3,000 people reside in Windermere, where they enjoy a subtropical climate characterized by mild winters and hot, humid, and rainy summers.

A Brief History of Windermere

The area now known as Windermere was first settled by Americans as a residential development in 1889. It was officially incorporated as a city on May 5, 1915 as a result of a land auction of 110 acres facilitated by the council-manager form of government. This tract of land was situated between James Avenue on the north, Lamar Avenue to the south, Main Street to the west, and 5th Street to the east.
